CAD Drafting and designing services are being outsourced!

These days in the world of cheap outsourced CAD, it can be very tempting to hire on offshore drafting services firm to do your production. The allure is certainly understandable. The claims being made by so many of these firms go something like this: “Trust us to do your drawings and details, because we are experienced professionals that can complete your project on time, and at a billable rate that is lower than the typical wage at Walmart.”

Some companies are not able to sustain the costs of hiring a full-time draftsman, so they prefer to eliminate the cost of a full time employee and they outsource the work as and when they need it. Outsourcing CAD drafting services offers you the advantage of getting the job done by an experienced professional, someone who understands that you must meet those deadlines to maintain your customer’s trust and confidence.

An advanced CAD technology will make engineering design as photorealistic. Animated models, AutoCAD models and solid models can be created in 3D. After the 3D models are created, they can also be rendered with realistic lightings, shadows, atmosphere, color, texture and optical effects. By 3D rendering CAD services, once can make 3D models look like photographs and can be inserted into catalogues to save time and money. 3D based CAD services enable clients to understand ideas better.

Why should I outsource my CAD drafting and designing module? :

* A technical and functional edge on the competition
* Lower cost
* Enhanced performance
* A better-managed e-business infrastructure
* Reliability and security

Benefits Of Business Outsourcing Process

The deepening penetration of the Internet across the world has led to explosive growth in online collaborations in recent years. The facility and convenience of online connections is driving the business outsourcing process. Entrepreneurs are constantly devising newer ways to outsource what they did by themselves so far. The motto seems to be: “what you can do yourself, there has to be someone else somewhere who can also do it still cheaper and better.” No business – big or small – has remained unaffected by this ultra new business trend.

There are some basic reasons why businesses are attracted by the idea of outsourcing. Some are primarily driven by the cost savings – hiring employees necessarily implies providing them with working space and facilities, in addition to their salary packages. Freedom from worries of employee liabilities is another important motive working behind business outsourcing process. Aggressive businesses and dynamic entrepreneurs see outsourcing as a mechanism that provides them opportunity to focus energies on their core business activities – thus giving them the competitive edge.

If you are a solo entrepreneur, contract marketing experts to promote your merchandise will save you effort and time. Virtual assistants can perform all your clerical work sitting in their homes, and your business website can be created and maintained by more knowledgeable people than you. Customer and technical support is another convenient activity that gets outsourced. Most of the human resource functions like recruiting and training are now increasingly being outsourced, particularly by large companies. Market research and analysis is another task that is ideal for outsourcing.

To derive maximum benefits of business outsourcing process consider: “what are those activities that you or your employees alone should perform?” For instance, you may not like to share certain information or data with outsiders. Further think about the core activities that you have so far reserved for the company employees: “can some or any of these be outsourced?”

In recent years, small service providers in particular, are waking up to the idea of business outsourcing process. Winning an outsourced project (or task) is a one-time activity – relationship is over when the task is completed. When a process is outsourced (for instance, a database management), an ongoing relationship approach is required. It demands the vendor to be more closely familiar with the client’s needs, and the client to provide ongoing feedback and necessary training to the vendor.

But there are certain issues inherent in the business outsourcing process that need careful attention: Off shore outsourcing has cultural and linguistic problems inherent in them. Loss of in-house business expertise is an important issue since you begin to rely on outside experts. There is always a fear of losing control on the manner of execution of the business process. The vendor may not be able to sustain the service for whatever reason – financial or management. The later two issues can be addressed only if the client sheds the role of a “hands-off” onlooker and takes an active role in supporting the vendor. Then the relationship acquires some colors of business partnership.

Which web language or technology is used for ordering food online?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I am a freelance designer interested in offering restaurant clients the option for customers to order online. Which language or technology is used to make that happen?

I know there are independent companies that can set up a service for you, but it seems as easy as creating a selectable online menu that can be transmitted via email. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Help! I need to make some money and I don’t really have any experience to get hired for anything – believe me I’ve tried everything! What can I do? Are there any work at home jobs or telecommuting jobs that I can try that don’t require money upfront for a "decision package" and all that junk? Freelance stuff? Any ideas would be welcome, thanks!

Bio On Kes Phelps, Freelance Web Designer

In 1996 Kes Phelps asked himself what are his natural abilities were and what he enjoyed. He had always been creative with a passion for art and design, and also technically minded. The Internet boom had just exploded and so he made the decision to carve a career in Web Design.

At the time there were no Web Design higher level education courses in his home town of Norwich in the UK, to which he was committed due to family reasons. The most suitable and highest profile course was the Applied Computing degree at the University of East Anglia which, although was predominately a software engineering degree, did have some modules related to web design and the programming and database skills would stand him in good stead for developing web based applications.

Kes successfully completed the prerequisite Access Course in Engineering and Technology at the Norwich City College and was offered a place on his chosen degree which he went on to complete, with honours, in 2000.

His first position after graduation was at British Telecom working as a call centre operative. Then after six months, a secondment within BT Retail arose, building an Intranet site for a team of project managers. He put himself forward and his application was accepted.

This short term contract was invaluable in his personal and skill development. Here he taught himself ASP building a small scale, web based application. He was also given the opportunity to develop his project management skills gained at university.

From there he had a brief spell as a freelance web designer but due to lack of experience, struggled to make a comfortable living. It was clear he needed to get back into the workplace to gain more experience and after six months as a freelancer he managed to find work with mProvision, then known as mGenie.

mGenie was an internet marketing company owned by Fox Tucker. Fox was well known within the affiliate marketing arena and helped create the DGM’s affiliate marketing network.

This wasn’t just an excellent opportunity for Kes to hone his web design and development skills, but also to learn about the entrepreneurial aspects of online business from his mentor, Fox. After one year he was appointed Head of Technical Development, designing, developing and project managing internet solutions that delivered Mobile Phone Media. It was here that he became fascinated by his now specialist area of Internet development, search engine optimisation.

After three years at mProvision he went on to join WhichPoker.com, a highly successful online poker portal, as Head of Mobile Content. When the company realised his search engine optimisation expertise he became involved with their online marketing. After ten months however he was made redundant due to role change.

By this time, however, his skills and experience were sufficient to go into business as a freelance web designer, developer and SEO. This had always been a dream and something continuing very much in the background but now there was an opportunity to take it to another level. He redesigned and optimised his site, which you can get to via the link in the footnote of this article, and slowly watched it climb the search engine rankings.

As it climbed the enquires began to come and now Kes Phelps has a steady flow of work, specialising in designing, developing and optimising internet solutions for small and medium sized businesses.

But following this simple guide you should at least be able to find a machine that not only plays the quality you expect, but recorded as you want. What kind of machine does not? There are three basic types of DVD recorder. First the independent model. By eliminating all the bells and whistles of an additional hard drive tends to be the cheapest option on the market. A Another major attraction is its simplicity – the only way you can record your favorite show or film is placed directly on discs. But viewers seeking greater flexibility and instant recording may prefer to consider the second option, DVD and hard drive combination. They not only offer the advantages of a DVD burner, but it also has built in storage space that has a lot more disk white.

Wall Projection
Wall Projection

Create A Natural Looking Stone Wall With Joint Compound And A Stencil

Interior stone walls are expensive, tedious to install, and needless to say; a back breaking experience. You need to pick out and haul the stones, haul and attach the backer board, spread the messy thin-set, lay out the stones, and then grout them. It is a lot for the mind to comprehend when it comes to a weekend project, let alone to accomplish.

But I have a simple, beautiful answer that creates a wall of raised stone that looks so real you won’t believe it!

Supply List:

1. Raised Plaster Stone stencil: Raised Plaster Stencils are now readily available on the internet (simply do a search for “Raised Plaster Stencil” to find all of the available sources). If you can’t find just the right stone stencil design, you can make your own.

2. A bucket of joint compound (or more, depending on how large the intended wall is).

3. A small mixing bucket

4. Wide masking tape

5. A 3″ wide plastic scraper

6. Pure pigment tint to pre-color the joint compound (these come in many forms from concrete and stucco pigments or in the paint department of most home stores or on-line sources). The color you choose will become the “base” color of your stones.

7. A small sea sponge. (Even an old towel works!).

8. Clear polyurethane sealer.

9. Craft paints in the secondary or “accent” colors you would prefer in your stones. (For instance, a pale brown base color with deeper brown and cream accent colors).

To create your own stencil, first decide on your stone pattern. Practice with pencil and paper until you have just the right design by creating various size stones in different patterns or simply copy a pattern from a garden book or magazine. Create a square or rectangle design since it will be the easiest to repeat over the wall.

Your stencil can be made out of just about anything that is large, flat and reasonably thick. Durable plastic sheets work the best since they will hold up to repeated use and can later be used with concrete over your existing patio to create a new stone surface. .14 mil or thicker plastic does the trick and will basically last through any abuse.

Though the openings for your stones can be cut out with a sharp craft knife, a stencil burner (available at your local craft store) glides through the plastic with ease, making the cutting chore a breeze.

You can create a more temporary version of your stencil by using heavy duty poster board from your local craft or art supply store. Tip: Spray the poster board lightly with aerosol hairspray or matt spray varnish to seal the paper surface which will help prevent the moisture in the joint compound from penetrating it before you have completed your wall project. A craft knife is all you need to cut the openings out of poster board.

Transfer the design on to the stencil material and cut the openings out.

Apply wide masking tape to adjoining walls, the ceiling and baseboards to protect them from unwanted joint compound. Be sure to protect the floor with a drop cloth or plastic sheet, then apply your stencil to one upper corner of the wall and tape in to place.

Transfer ½ of the bucket of joint compound in to a clean mixing bucket and add a few drops of tint at a time, mixing in between color applications until you reach the desired base color for your stones. Keep track of the number of drops you have used so you can repeat the exact color if you need to mix more.

Stir the joint compound well. With your scraper, apply a thin coat over all of the openings. Scrape it smooth to force the compound in to all of the open spaces. Now, apply more joint compound over the openings. Applying a coat that exceeds ½” will only lead to cracking as the compound dries. You may or may not prefer this effect.

As you smooth on this second layer of compound, allow it to be bumpy, with dips and crevices, swirls and ridges. This will help to create very natural looking stone. Remove the stencil and allow the compound to dry before repeating your stones next to the wet design.

To speed things along, we do the first repeat, skip the second, apply the third repeat and so on. To accomplish this, simply measure over the width of your stencil openings and apply the stencil at that point.

Once all of the stones have been completed and are dry, add just a little water to each of the secondary (accent) colors you have chosen. Using your small sea sponge or an old, dry towel, begin to blot the colors here and there over the stones, blending as you go. Streaks or veining of color can be added with a cotton swab or artists brush.

Apply a coat of clear polyurethane to seal and protect. Enjoy the look of a stone wall you created yourself and hear the comments from friends and family who won’t believe it!

which one is better to watch tv, moives the dlp rear projection tv or the dlp projector that goes on the wall

sharp, clear

That depends on what you want and the environment it’s going into. You can buy a 1080p rear projector all the way up to 73″. Being a rear projector means it will look good even in a bright room, be easier to install and be a complete TV with DTV tuner and speakers. If you are looking for something bigger than 73″ though you will have to go to a front projector spending at least as much as the rear on the projector alone plus screen plus audio system plus controlling your light if it’s a bright room(maybe you were going to get an audio system anyway). Your choice, bigger or easier. Both can be very good picture.

* having to recharge for 6 hours.
* having no way to replace battery with a fresh, recharged battery.
* can’t tell what % of recorded material on c/d is consumed or remains.

Other than foregoing equipment works well.
DO NOT GO AND BUY ANYTHING ELSE BUT THIS SONY DVD PLAYER

DO NOT GO AND BUY ANYTHING ELSE BUT THIS SONY DVD PLAYER!

I bought this refurbished for just about $115 dollars, and knowing what I know now, I would have bought a brand new one if they did not have any refurbished ones. It is a fabulous player. The slightest touch to the controls under the screen produces the desired result. It is not remote control dependent; therefore, if you lose the remote you can still use the controls under the screen, and to use the controls under the screen takes a very very light touch. Picture quality is fantastic; sound quality is fantastic; I even used a cheap pair of headphones and the sound is fantastic. I believe that the two headphone plugins are so that two people can watch with each person having their own set of headphones. The square button on the right side just under the screen should have arrows on it so that the user realizes to push the button at the very top edge for up, or the very bottom edge for down, or the very right edge for right, or the very left edge for left, or push right in the center for Enter.

I also bought the:

PDVK-10 7-Inch 10-Inch In Car Portable DVD Player Case (Black)

for this unit and the case is wonderful. It holds the player with a strap and buckle to strap the player down and keep it from sliding around. The back inside pocket holds the Remote, the AC adapter, the Car plug adapter, the wires that are used to go to a television, and two small cheap headphones that go around the top of the head. Do not pass up this case either for you will be very happy that you can carry everything with you including the very good Instruction Manual that comes with the Sony DVPFX930.

WARNING: You will damage the player by having the player plugged into the automobile and starting the engine, or turning off the engine. The engine must be started first, and then the player plugged into the vehicle, or if you are just going to run off the car battery make sure the automobile stays off; also, it must be a 12V car battery and not a 24V.

Can ads assuring unthinkable income just for spending 1 or 2 hrs per day on internet reading mails be trusted?

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Advertisements appear in dailies luring readers with attractive income for reading mails in internet, etc. If this is an effortless or easy job, it should be easier for the advertisers to get people for doing the job. Yet, repeated ads of this nature indicate that the advertisers are not able to get hands for performing the jobs. Such a situation obviously brings forth the doubt that there is something dangerous in offering our services for jobs of this nature. Despite all these hesitations, there may be some successful or unsuccessful friends who have tried their luck on this issue. Kindly share your experience.

Is there a good place online to create and order affordable, professional business cards?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I’d like to be able to create them online (just like with the free templates), but have them made professionally (so that I can get glossy finishes and things like that). Any suggestions?

(it’s for a freelance writing circuit, in case that would make a difference!)
Thanks!

international telecommuting
Is I.P.G. international (job site) a scam?

I am trying to get a telecommuting job through this company. They ask for a $10 PayPal deposit to cover materials so they can ‘weed out’ people who aren’t serious about working. Everything in me says SCAM, but I sure WANT to believe them!

No legit company asks for money upfront, if 10,000 people fall for this, they just made $100,000 for nothing.

Freelance Translator Resume

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Internet job, a fraud, what can I do?

I put my skype ID in my resume on translatorscafe.com (freelance translator and buyers community) where everyone can view it. When I was online in Skype, this guy asked me if I am available working (proofreading and correcting the translation already there).
I asked where he found my name and skype ID, and vaguely he said his colleagues found me in the site. After I have finish my task and send the correction file to him, he just said thank you. I asked him if he pay me the payment by Paypal (I already stated I only accept Paypal in the resume). He said he has no paypal account, and just Wester Union which need minimum earning. I dont have guarantee for future job, so I asked to pay in Paypal. Then, he said “You are living in US? sorry to keep you awake at night”, and I said “No problem”, then he tried to go somewhere saying “Need to get meal, ciao!”. He lives in China, and is there anything I can do for this..? Any advices are welcome. Thank you..

Squa … I think you can forget about getting paid for THAT job. In the future, though, you might see if there’s a way that you can require a deposit in advance, perhaps. You should also make sure your clients have a PayPal account BEFORE getting more involved. There may also be a way to rate people positively for paying promptly as required, or a way to rate them poorly if they don’t keep to the original agreement.

Good luck.

Outsourcing Network

outsourcing network

Outsourcing Network Management and Security

Outsourcing network tasks can be an excellent way to achieve enhanced performance and security, improve your disaster recovery strategy and to “buy-in” valuable expertise which you may not be able to employ inside your organization. Outsourcing is also a key business tool to ensure that your company stays focused on what it does best – pursuing and developing your business, making money and increasing profits.

Unless you are already an IT solutions provider, there is a strong argument for not managing your own network and security, but getting someone else who does understand and is experienced in managing and protecting networks in to do it for you.

One issue many businesses have is that they are handing over responsibility for a mission critical element of their operation to someone outside of the company and outside of their control. This may not seem like a good idea, but there are numerous reasons why major companies, even banks and governments do outsource network management to third parties.

Outsourcing Delivers Professional Expertise

A key advantage for outsourcing is that professionals can be contracted in to perform services and support without the need to put them on the payroll. Your business can tap in to expertise from experienced professionals who are fully certified and at the forefront of their particular area of interest. Security for instance, is a very broad ranging area but if you have a solution provider who specializes in firewalls and Wi-Fi security, you can benefit from their in-depth knowledge of solutions, threats and the application to your own network.

You can also use this expertise to transfer knowledge to your own network staff and you should look for solution providers who are willing to take your staff under their wing and bring them on with new technology and issues.

The Bottom Line

Outsourcing is cost-effective as you can arrange to pay for only those services you are using. You must ensure you pay very careful attention to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) provided by any potential partner, indeed, you ought to review SLA’s you may already have with current providers.

We’ve already mentioned that by using outsourcing, you can effectively “buy-in” expertise which is otherwise not available, and this means you may gain greater efficiencies in your network and how it is used. This in turn leads to greater productivity and cost-reductions which feed directly into an improved bottom line.

Maintaining Business Focus

By outsourcing network management and security, you are able to pay closer attention to the underlying business itself. A business maxim is to stick to what you know best – it follows that by outsourcing network management and security to a trusted, third party you are releasing resources which are better employed in generating more business.

Improving Disaster Recovery Strategies

Using an outsourced service provider will also lead to enhancements in your disaster recovery strategy. First of all, network management and security staff are likely to be based away from your operating site and if there is a need for extra hands within the business, you can call them in as you need. By hosting applications and data in a third party hosting center, you are also increasing the protection afforded to your company data and means of transacting business.

Town Hall Meetings to Crisis Management – Online Conferencing in the Public Sector

A key initiative in the Obama Administration is to use innovation and the influence of technology to improve overall performance and lower the cost of government operations.  With an unstable economy and reduced operating budgets, local and federal municipalities have been forced to act.  Turning to online communication and collaboration solutions as a way to streamline daily operations, online video and web conferencing technology has become a crucial weapon in how government entities communicate.

The use of online conferencing services gives government and public service agencies the ability to reduce obstacles brought on by location, as well as cut back on travel related costs.  In addition, by using video and web conferencing services, local, state and federal organizations are benefitting by increased productivity and participating in a more eco-friendly environment.  Here are some ways these solutions are being implemented:

Emergency Preparedness Webinars – When disaster strikes, citizens turn to their government and community leaders as a source of information.  Holding online webinars that focus on emergency planning and training prior to a catastrophic event helps ready the public and ease the minds of communities across the country.

Work From Home Programs – The demand to telecommute is growing.  Online video and web conferencing allows employees to bring the office home with them.  With just a click of a mouse, remote workers are able to communicate face-to-face with supervisors, co-workers, prospects and clients.

Crisis Management –First responders and public safety groups are using online conferencing to share live up-to-date information, analyze threat levels with remote team members and stay in constant contact with central command teams.

Training and Distance Learning – Online video and web conferencing offers public service agents and officials a way to save time and reduce geographical barriers.  By conducting interactive live trainings and classes, employees can participate via their home or office computer, cutting back on hours of travel time and aggravation.

Joint Planning and Collaboration – Teams and departments spread throughout a district or county can work together on projects, go over budget reviews, organize events and participate in recurring meetings.  This is all being done through an internet browser, eliminating the need for in-person gatherings.

Citizen Outreach Programs – Executing interactive town hall meetings with the community allows citizens to openly ask questions and voice their concerns.  Online video and web conferencing is uniting and building trust amongst communities by providing the public with effortless access to local and remote officials.

Local, state and federal municipalities are recognizing the multitude of benefits acquired through the utilization of this technology.  Video and web conferencing fosters productivity and is an economical, real-time solution to complications caused by budget restraints and location. In this day and age of constant cutbacks and a population more on-the-move than ever, online video and web conferencing is destined to become utilized in an increasing way with each passing day.

Yamaha YHT-591BL

Here is a great piece of home theater equipment that makes your viewing experience so real you will never want to go to the cinema again. Everything needed for getting a complete home theater started will be found in these neat all-in-one packages. Just choose the model that suits your needs and your away.

It is equipped with 5 all powerful 105W speakers and a 100W subwoofer. When set up correctly the Yamaha YHT-591BL sounds utterly amazing with its clean and crisp bass that is genuinely built for the medium sized home theatre experience.

By placing the speakers throughout the room, you get the cinema-like sound from a small, easy to install unit that is compatible with the optional Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver and iPod Universal Dock. It’s equipped with four HDMI inputs and one output that support all HD formats so you are able to hook up multiple HDMI compatible devices and take joy in the high-def display.

The speakers included in this Yamaha home theater in a box system are very impressive for the price range package they are in. This was one of the first HTIBs to boast HD sound and it works flawlessly. The surround sound is clearer, richer and more realistic with Yamaha’s advanced CINEMA DSP, and the YPAO Automatic System Calibration. It will automatically adjust to the best sound for the room, irrespective of where the speakers are situated.

The convenient SCENE buttons allow you to set up multiple functions for BD, DVD and TV viewing, CD and radio listening. At the press of the button a number of preset operations occur, automatically playing the source of your choice in the manner of your choice.

There are a few minor cons to the YHT-591BL such as the rear speakers are fairly long at ten inches, the remote control looks rather old-hat and no AC pass through.

Therefore overall for the money this home theater system is definitely a good choice. The YHT-591 offers great HD ready features and benefits in a 5.1 channel system, including a 5-channel AV receive, three-way bass reflex speakers, two-way surrounds and a ten inch 100W advanced YST 2 subwoofer. It boasts a full array of HD audio decoders, comprising great functioning and value for home theater consumers also having YPAO for automatic speaker set up and sound optimization.

You get a lot more inputs/outputs on this receiver and if you don’t need or want a DVD player because you are thinking of upgrading to Blue Ray then the YHT-591BL is the one for you.

The Yamaha YHT-591BL is a perfect buy for the first-time home theater user who wants the best quality sound but doesn’t want to spend a huge amount of money.

You will find additional information, specifications and discount pricing at the Yamaha YHT-591BL homepage.

You can read more or compare reviews and pricing of other systems at, Yamaha Home Theater In A Box.

Why do I lose surround sound while watching a BluRay movie with uncompressed audio?

Is it the PS3 or is it my Yamaha YHT-380 system?
TV guy – I’m using optical cable, and some Blu Rays offer either regular 5.1 dts (DVD quality) OR uncompressed audio. Some BluRays ONLY offer uncompressed. When I select uncompressed, or if its the only option availale, I lose my surround sound.

You can’t get uncompressed sound from Blu-ray movies by using optical cable. You need 3 things:
1. A receiver supports audio via HDMI.
2. Connect HDMI from PS3 to receiver.
3. Set audio format output HDMI on PS3 menu to Linear ( Bitstream is used for optical cable ).
