Last year I separated from my wife. We hired a mediator and drew up an agreement in may of 2008. I paid and have always been current on the Dissomaster child support. In January of 2009 without notifying me, my wife filed for a Temporary spousal support order that asked for an increase in child support and also the maximum amount of spousal support.
I was not told of any of this until March 22nd of 2009, when I got a phone call from my wifes lawyer who accused me of evading service as they had been trying to reach me for 3 months. The funny thing is, I telecommute I am home all the time, at my known address. Both my wife and children have my address, so this appears to be just a ruse. In May we went to a hearing and the court rubber stamped her request without requiring any proof. My wife lied to the court and told them I was behind on child support and that I refused spousal support (she had previously asked for none) There was a long list of falsifications in the court documents she presented, but she did not have to provide any proof.
The result being that she is now flush with cash (She has 20k in the bank and she just sent my daughter on a 00 trip to Japan. I am supporting our 19 year old son as he is a full time student and I am also still making payments on Joint debt. The budget I presented to the court clearly showed that if they gave her the Judgement she was requesting (maximum amounts all) That I would not be able to make ends meet, but they rubber stamped her request anyway. Part of the order which she obtained included garnishing my wages at 60%, and they are garnishing me 0 a month for back spousal support (she got an award for retroactive spousal support to her filing date in January) They are also garnishing my wages 0 a month for back child support (for which I owe none). I also got no notice of the garnishment, there was a sentence in the original filing that said something like "An earnings assessment may be implemented without further notice", next thing I know I get a call from my employer telling me my wages have been garnished. This will all come out when it gets to trial and I provide proof of all of this, but in the meantime, I am financially destroyed, and cannot even afford to keep the lights on in my house, my employer thinks I am a deadbeat dad while my wife lives high on the hog. Hiring a lawyer was no help either, had I not hired a lawyer and went it on my own, I would still be where I am at with the courts and I would have an extra 00 in my pocket. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can get some immediate relief?
I told my lawyer at court that if my wife gets this judgement I will go into bankruptcy, she shrugged her shoulders and said "Well that’s what most people have to do". I have another attorney now, but he has told me I have to either settle with her or go to trial. The whole thing reads like an evil plot. I’m also pretty sure I have a civil case of abuse of process, but that will only involve more attorneys and more up front cost that I don’t have.

I am willing to actually work for payment of course. I’m not looking for a get rich quick scheme. I am a full time student and part time freelance writer who needs a little extra money to pay the bills. The problem is that I’ve run into only scams in my search. Websites that claim you can earn 0 an hour if you invest 0. I don’t buy it.
I’m looking for something along the lines of an ebay power-seller type of thing. Well, anything really, but that’s just what interests me most. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My work screwed me over and I ended up having to quit (Basic summary: in addition to just being jack@$$es, they told me I would be one level where I could part-time telecommute and then changed it two months into my promotion; then they told me I could telecommute part-time anyway, and changed their mind during my maternity).
Because I quit "voluntarily," I have a feeling my unemployment will be denied while I search for a part-time or telecommute job, since I haven’t been able to make enough full-time to afford licensed childcare in my area. Are there any ways I can make a decent amount of money from home (at least several hundred per month)? I haven’t been able to find any other kids to care for, so that is out.

Does anyone know of any real companies that allow its employees to telecommute? Our family needs two incomes, but with a new baby coming I can’t stand the thought of going back to work full time. I’m not interested in get-rich-quick or pyramid schemes. I want a real job with a real company. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!
OK let me say again that I am looking for a real, steady job with a real company. NOT scams or surveys. Thanks again.

I’m faced with a dilemma. I used to believe that the person who works the hardest has the best work ethic. That is, untill I got a job of my own. There is this girl working at my place who’s been there 4 years, works really hard, does stuff that’s not even on the list of her duties, goes above and beyond and still only makes $.50 more an hour than me. Now, I think she’s just stupid and letting the corporation use her. When I look at her I feel sorry for her, but can’t tell her why.
I do my fair share, but do not go beyond that, unless I know it will benefit me in the long run (ex. working full time guarantees that I can pursue continuous education for which the company pays, otherwise, I would have stayed home and did a lot of the work part time, telecommuting).
Now, wich one of us has the right idea of good work ethic? Or, perhaps neither? Why?

I can provide resume, references, and samples of work. I’m willing to work full-time anywhere in the world, or part-time if you are in the area where I live, or telecommute. I have EIT certification and am located in southwestern Virginia. I would prefer to work with a PE if possible.
Thanks.

I am 23 and I still don not have a job. I am in college.
I have been doing freelance work for the last four years.
On my application, I put that I am available to work full time.
I have worked at places like G.E. and a top hospital.
I fill applications out online, 10 at a time. I never get responses.
What am I doing wrong?

Due to the economy, my full-time employment work hours have been reduced. I have started freelance writing for an online company, which I do a couple of hours each evening in my home office. What types of things can I include in my tax deductions for next year? Could I claim new computer, new office furniture, high speed Internet access?

Well, I realized after a few years out of college that I’m in the wrong field. I have always loved writing. I have always been a very strong writer, I just never thought there was a career in it for me, so I pushed it off to the side. But, here I am, in graduate school getting a degree in Professional Writing. I just started not too long ago, but I’m getting worried as I look at jobs online and they all seem to be freelance. Magazines, websites and so-on seem to run without having to pay full-time writers; they just get people to freelance some articles for cheap or for free. So, what kind of jobs exist in writing that are full-time and not dull and boring? Does anyone work in the field? If so, do you have some advice on where to start?
Thanks!

I have an MA in English from a Scottish university – that’s 4 years full time study. However, I can’t work in a school abroad as to teach English as a foreign language only CELTA or TESOL is acceptable – that’s 4 weeks study.
I’ve never tried CELTA but it seems to be an ego trip for the ‘lecturers’, certainly that’s the case here in Poland.
Is there a course that involves positive feedback and training rather than negative criticism by prima donnas?
I have worked for the last 3 years as a freelance teacher in Poland. While I don’t have Celta or Tesol at the moment I earn considerably more than the wage offered by city centre schools. I’d like to study for a TEFL qualification to improve my skills rather than simply a way to earn more. Any suggestions?

I so badly dont want to (and can’t afford to) put my son in daycare. I have been able to telecommute at my job, but they’re phasing that out now. I don’t know what to do.
I’ve done Avon. I’ve done Mary Kay. I don’t want to invest a bunch of money for something that isn’t goign to fly unless I run all over the place marketing myself. I want something tat is NOT a scam…
Does anyone have any advice? I’m going to school Full time as well.

I worked at home full time because working at home is very easy. Just bit at project for price to buyer and send request of aproval. Sometimes it only takes 4 to 5 hours to complete the project then the money automatically credited to my account. This features and accessibility helps me to choose what professions to chose and what jobs to prefer.
through freelancing i can manage any time i choose and paid for every project i finish.
Is it great right?
How about you? why do you prefer to work at home? Did it meet all of your demands from time, place, and price?
If you are seeking job online do this demands are all your concerns? why?

Most training jobs require travel so I know these types of opportunities exist. Can you offer some resources that might help me? I’m qualifed and have experience in this area, but I’m looking for a good opportunity to do it full-time.
I have experience training in the following areas: sales, marketing, leadership development, career development and teamwork. I am actually a freelance marketing & training consultant, but I am seeking something more steady in this area. I could also possibly train in the technology field depending upon the company’s needs. I have 4 years of experience in the technology industry. I am well versed in evaluating software needs, but I’m not a certified engineer. My expertise really falls in the areas of developing people. That also is my passion.

Hi mommas – I want to run something by you. I am 32.5 weeks pregnant with my first baby – I work full time, as does my husband, at the same place (but different depts.). Another girl in my dept. had her 1st baby last April and asked for, and was given, 2 days telecommuting upon return from maternity leave. I talked about my return with the same supervisor, who said I could have 1 telecommuting day upon my return. I was really disappointed with this (was hoping for two days), but can kind of understand that I have a different duties than this other girl and that upper management doesn’t look highly upon telecommuting to begin with.
But then I found out today that my husband talked with his supervisor about a couple choices, like working 4 10-hour days or working on a Saturday (and thus having one day off during the week), and while his boss was amenable to either, upper management again came down on both suggestions and did not approve either.
So now I’m looking at the likelihood of my working from home one day of the week, and putting the baby in daycare for 4 days of the week while my husband and I both work. I’m freaking out about this, both emotionally and financially. We both work at a higher institution and while everyone initially talked about being flexible and family-friendly, I do not feel that is actually the case. I’m really pissed about this, too – one colleague gets to telecommute twice/week, but I only get 1 day? And my husband gets none?
Anyway. What I’m wondering is, for those of you who put your baby in daycare (after a 3 month maternity leave), what was that like for you? Was it no big deal – i.e., am I overreacting to the thought – or is it a terrible idea?
Thanks for listening and responding nicely.

I am a full time worker suffering from burn out in a "career" I fell into 10 years ago. I have no previous education other the H.S.
I have a huge interest in computer design. Not so much architectural, or engineering but advertising and possible web design. I have a continually growing interest and experience in computers. And know this is a good career path.
I just am so lost with what this "interest" of mine would be titled and how long a part time education would take me. And the biggest issue is I have a decent living and lifestyle based around it where I am now. So what type of income can one expect in this field?
Thanks in advance.

My hubby’s employer is cutting costs, and has asked him to work from home full time, starting very soon. We had planned on me being a stay at home mom when we have kids, but now with him working at home, I was wondering if me working part time during the day might work, since he will be home. Is it really possible to provide infant care, while telecommuting, or will it impact the quality of work too much? What about when the child is a bit older? At what age would this be appropriate?

My husband and I are living in the U.S…My husband has an opportunity to take an international assignment in Japan for a year. We’ve decided to jump at the opportunity and we will be leaving as soon as 3 months from now.
I have just started my career less than a year ago, and I have the chance to keep my job and telecommute from Japan. I am torn about keeping my job or not working while in Japan and pursuing my artistic interests (writing, painting, photography, etc) as well as getting to really experience the culture–maybe even teaching English part time. Will working full time from home in Japan take away from that experience? I realize it is up to me how much I want to "get" from the experience of living in Japan–I just don’t know whether the stress of being in another country and working full time will be more than I’d like to handle. If you had the choice, what would you do?
Any advice would be appreciated.
