Can you suggest a career path for me?

Monday, April 12th, 2010

I’m going back to school and I’m going to take it seriously this time. The only problem is that I don’t know what career path to take. My only interests are in things that either wouldn’t make enough money or wouldn’t provide the lifestyle I’m looking to have so I’m not looking to find my passion or any nonsense like that; I need to go in with a plan of some sort. Here’s what I’m looking for: don’t need a ton of money, in fact 50 grand after tax would be just fine. I cannot be geographically confined; I need to be able to live anywhere I want, leave anytime I want so telecommuting/tele-freelance opportunities are a must and have to be common in the suggested field. I do not mind hard work I would be willing to commit to a program for a decade if I can count on the results I have described. Any advice or suggestions?

This site gives you the advantages and disadvantages of telecommuting or working at home. http://www.eei.org/esg/na/tele.htm If you still want to work at home you can check out the sites below. Please understand that I am not recommending them. You have to put them through the foregoing tests. I just came across these sites when I was researching the subject. http://allfreelance.com/telecommutingjo
I am not a scammer. I am a lay minister of my church. I would be dismissed outright and prosecuted by my church if I scam people. Besides, I have more than enough
savings and investments to live comfortably. My children are all top business executives or businessmen.
They would be totally ashamed of me if ever I did this to people.
It is not my website.
Thanks Amy. I have no business connection with this site whatsoever. I was just trying to help.
abbassangel, Thanks! You could be right.
Piggie, you may have a point but even a court of law recognizes the intent of the accused. I have always played by the rules, by the way.
Sailcat,
I think you said it all. This is a place to learn and help people.

How much time do you give a telecommuter to respond to emails?

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

My coworker takes FOREVER to respond to emails when she telecommutes. At work, she tends to be much quicker. Should I say something to her? It makes me wonder if she is telecommuting or tele-SLEEPING from home! Seriously!

Tax deduction for part-time telecommute?

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

I have home office as well as an office at work. I work about half of the time from home with company provided laptop. Per my telecommute agreement with my company, I need to constantly connected to company’s network via VPN when working from home and call in with my own phone in case there is tele-conf. I don’t know if worth to file 2106 for the expensens such as home office, phone, and internet access charge? I appreciate any advice.
